Furniture makeover can often give a new look to the area. The normal old furniture set last about 15-20 years. Reusing old furniture by doing some creativity on it is a way better idea then discarding the whole furniture and buying a new one, Making Some effort for example by changing upholstery and then paint and varnish makes the furniture looks new. Rather than buying a whole new set.

In today's world fashion industry is popular because of its environmental impact, particularly due to fast fashion. One way to take action on this is by revamping old clothes instead of buying new one and throw the old one. By basic sewing and a bit of creativity can transform old outfit to a new dress, accessory or even a home décor. For example an old t-shirt can be reused by making it a tote bag or a cushion cover. Or a pair of jeans can be turned out to a stylish skirt. This kind of practices just not only reduces the waste but also promotes sustainable fashion.

By composing organic waste we reduce the amount of waste and create valuable resource for gardens.

Water is a precious resource, and rainwater harvesting is an effective way to conserve it. By storing, collecting and purifying rainwater that runs from rooftop, parks and roads with the help of technology this process is called rain water harvesting

Energy efficiency:
Solar oven utilizes the power the sun to cook food is a sustainable and energy efficient alternative towards traditional cooking method. This is a DIY project that requires cardboard, aluminum foil and glass. Solar oven can reach the temperature high enough to cook variety of food. It provides unique way to cook food while minimizing environmental effect.

Lights are considered as an important household energy use. Converting existing bulb to LED lights are the most impactful DIY project. LED bulbs are more energy efficient and have longer life span as compared to traditional bulbs. It helps to reduce the electric bill and energy consumption and also minimizes environmental impact.

Personal care and cleaning products:
Many commercial home cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can be harmful to both environment and human health. Make your own cleaning solutions with natural ingredients like mix of vinegar and lemon can be used as an all-purpose cleaner. While baking soda and salt works as an scrubbing agent. These homemade cleaners are effective, affordable and reduce the use of plastic packaging.

The beauty industry generates a considerable amount of plastic waste and often uses ingredients that are not environment friendly. Making your own beauty products with natural ingredients like lemon, shea butter, tee tree oil, coconut oil, turmeric, honey, coffee etc. DIY skincare not only promotes sustainability but also ensures that products are safe and gentle for the skin

Recycling and waste Reduction:
Proper sorting and disposal of recyclables are crucial for effective recycling. Setting up an organized recycling station is a practical DIY project that can make recycling more easy and efficient. By using labeled bins and containers to separate different types of recyclables such as paper, plastic glass and metal etc. It encourages consistent recycling habits and reduces contamination in recycling streams. Don't forget to dry and clean the items before putting into bins.

Plastic bags are a major environmental pollutant, often ending up in oceans and harming marine life. Sewing the reusable bag by your own with the old fabric the simple yet impactful DIY project. Old curtain or other sturdy fabric can be used to make durable bags that can be used for groceries, shopping and storage. It helps to reduce the reliance on use of plastics and contribute to a cleaner environment.

Sustainable Living

 Sustainability:

Sustainability is a goal to choose between not to harm wild life and environment or making environment damage and loss of biodiversity. Sustainable living is a practice to reduce environmental damage. It's not only about the environment but also about our physical, psychological and social well- being and especially for the future generation. Following are some key aspects of sustainable living.

Energy Conservations:

Energy conservation helps to reduce the amount of energy consumption by using renewable energy such as installing solar panels or energy savers or by switching lights off manually or with the timer or sensory. Green energy providers can also be used here. By using energy efficient appliances which contain high energy efficiency for example microwave, cooker, and air fryer consumes less energy than oven. And the last one is by reducing consumption by switching off the lights and unplug the electronic devices when they're not needed.

Water Conservation:
The unnecessary usage of water is called water conservation it is important to get fresh and clean water. It can be done by fixing leaks by reducing dripping tabs and leaky pipes. Ask the children to close the tap while brushing would be very helpful to prevent the usage of water. Other is water-saving fixtures by installing low-flow shower heads and toilets. Conscious usage of water can also help in water conservation by using short shower instead of hose to clean driveways.

Waste reduction:

Waste reduction means throwing away less. Segregate the recyclables and compost organic waste This is also pollution in which materials are used to  make products and can't be recycled such as plastic plates. So plastic usage should be reduced by using alternatives for example: instead of plastic bag use cloth bag that is reusable after getting washed easily. Plastic plates should be replaced with steel plates and plastic straws with steel straws. By buying in bulk is also beneficial for reducing waste consumption because the product contain minimal amount of packaging.

Sustainable Transportation:

Affordable, low- emission and energy efficient transport including alternative fuel vehicles refers to sustainable transport. Active transport is a movement of molecules from lower concentration to higher concentration against the radiant with the use of external energy such as walking and cycling and Eco-friendly vehicle such as hybrid cars are the most sustainable active transport system. Public transport is also included because it also includes walking or some cycling from pick up and drop off points.

Sustainable food choices:

Producing food in a way that protects environment is called sustainable food. Which is done by supporting local farmers, by eating fruits and vegetables, by including plant based diet and avoiding processed food such as sugar and refined grains. Eating sustainability can include by avoiding fish, and meat that are harvested by environmentally conscious ways. Planning diet and using correct amount of food and by storing the rest of the food correctly is also include in food sustainability

Ethical Consumption:
Supporting brands or companies with sustainable practices. Using second hand product by reusing the used product to reduce the demand of new resources. And focus on minimalism for example choose the quality over quantity and buying as per the need is also the most useful practice for sustainable living.

Home and garden:
Use sustainable material for building and home improvement such as concrete, wood, and steel etc. usage of native plants and trees that provide food and shelter both and require less maintenance and water. Urban gardening is practice in which plants are being grown in urban environment which gives positive effect.

Conclusion:
sustainability is the ability to develop the society without consuming natural resources that is needed in the future. Implementing these practices can help to create a more sustainable lifestyle for the future generation by saving environment
