Sustainability:
Sustainability is a goal to choose between not to harm wild life and environment or making environment damage and loss of biodiversity. Sustainable living is a practice to reduce environmental damage. It's not only about the environment but also about our physical, psychological and social well- being and especially for the future generation. Following are some key aspects of sustainable living.
Energy Conservations:
Energy conservation helps to reduce the amount of energy consumption by using renewable energy such as installing solar panels or energy savers or by switching lights off manually or with the timer or sensory. Green energy providers can also be used here. By using energy efficient appliances which contain high energy efficiency for example microwave, cooker, and air fryer consumes less energy than oven. And the last one is by reducing consumption by switching off the lights and unplug the electronic devices when they're not needed.Water Conservation:
The unnecessary usage of water is called water conservation it is important to get fresh and clean water. It can be done by fixing leaks by reducing dripping tabs and leaky pipes. Ask the children to close the tap while brushing would be very helpful to prevent the usage of water. Other is water-saving fixtures by installing low-flow shower heads and toilets. Conscious usage of water can also help in water conservation by using short shower instead of hose to clean driveways.
Waste reduction:
Waste reduction means throwing away less. Segregate the recyclables and compost organic waste This is also pollution in which materials are used to make products and can't be recycled such as plastic plates. So plastic usage should be reduced by using alternatives for example: instead of plastic bag use cloth bag that is reusable after getting washed easily. Plastic plates should be replaced with steel plates and plastic straws with steel straws. By buying in bulk is also beneficial for reducing waste consumption because the product contain minimal amount of packaging.Sustainable Transportation:
Affordable, low- emission and energy efficient transport including alternative fuel vehicles refers to sustainable transport. Active transport is a movement of molecules from lower concentration to higher concentration against the radiant with the use of external energy such as walking and cycling and Eco-friendly vehicle such as hybrid cars are the most sustainable active transport system. Public transport is also included because it also includes walking or some cycling from pick up and drop off points.
Sustainable food choices:
Producing food in a way that protects environment is called sustainable food. Which is done by supporting local farmers, by eating fruits and vegetables, by including plant based diet and avoiding processed food such as sugar and refined grains. Eating sustainability can include by avoiding fish, and meat that are harvested by environmentally conscious ways. Planning diet and using correct amount of food and by storing the rest of the food correctly is also include in food sustainabilityEthical Consumption:
Supporting brands or companies with sustainable practices. Using second hand product by reusing the used product to reduce the demand of new resources. And focus on minimalism for example choose the quality over quantity and buying as per the need is also the most useful practice for sustainable living.
Home and garden:
Use sustainable material for building and home improvement such as concrete, wood, and steel etc. usage of native plants and trees that provide food and shelter both and require less maintenance and water. Urban gardening is practice in which plants are being grown in urban environment which gives positive effect.
Conclusion:
sustainability is the ability to develop the society without consuming natural resources that is needed in the future. Implementing these practices can help to create a more sustainable lifestyle for the future generation by saving environment
